About UPCH
The UP Círculo Hispánico, formerly known as Círculo Cervantino, is a non-stock, non-profit, college-based organization at the College of Arts and Letters in UP Diliman. Its primary objective is to provide a venue for students of the University to cultivate their interest in the Spanish language and culture by promoting the Filipino-Hispanic heritage through its activities. Since its foundation in 1964, the organization has lived up to its name and principles of promoting the Spanish language and culture, and in establishing closer ties among the Philippines and Spanish-speaking countries. For years, it has consistently been an instrument in producing esteemed alumni who were, and always will be, agents of change in our society and in our country.
History
UP Círculo Hispánico is a non-profit academic oriented organization under the Department of European Languages, duly recognized by the College of Arts and Letters of the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
The organization was founded in 1964 under the name of Círculo Cervantino. It then became dormant during a couple of years, but in 1997, it was re-established as Círculo Hispánico.
UP Círculo Hispánico aims to promote the Spanish language and culture to students and other members of our academic institution. It serves as a venue and support group for students who wish to further their interest in the Spanish language and culture through different activities such as tutorials, exhibits, poetry readings, film showings, etc. In doing so, it strengthens the ties among the Philippines and the Spanish-speaking countries.

The Executive Committee and Members
The Executive Committee of the organization is composed of nine elected officers: the President, the Vice President for External Affairs, the Vice President for Internal Affairs, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Academics Committee Head, Finance Committee Head, Publicity Committee Head and Special Projects and Events Committee Head.
In addition, the Vice President for External Affairs and the Vice President for Internal Affairs shall also head the Marketing Committee and the Membership Committee respectively.
